The Magic Hour: Discovering Black Womxn Alchemists

The Magic Hour: Discovering Black Womxn Alchemists is a 13 week interactive class where students will learn, uncover and embody the magic of Black womxn visual artists.

Over the duration of 13 weeks, students will be introduced to a range of Black women visual artists, their history, and their sources of motivation and inspiration. Each student will then have an opportunity to make their own visual interpretations of the artist and create 7 paintings on canvas board. The course will end with an unveiling/exhibition of the work of each student artist. The intention of this course is to create a space where students can celebrate and honor the creative works of Black womxn visual artists. Student artists will also begin to develop an artmaking practice that embodies the messages & lessons gifted to us by some of our most potent magic makers. Enter the Magic Hour with us :)
